If you think The Big Bang Theory star Jim Parsons has a bit of awkward alien about him, you're in for a treat. The new Dreamworks movie Home stars Rihanna, Parsons and comedic legend Steve Martin, and there's a delightful new trailer that you can watch to get up to speed on the alien-invasion movie! Considering it comes from the makers of How To Train Your Dragon and The Croods, it looks like we're in for a treat.

Home features Parsons as 'Oh', an awkward member of a species of alien called the 'Boov. It turns out Oh is a bit of an outcast on his home planet, so he ends up on Earth and befriends a human girl named Tip (voiced by Rihanna). Martin also stars as Boov leader, Captain Smek, who is trying his hardest to find Oh and invade Earth, while RnB superstar, American Idol judge and recent AMA performer Jennifer Lopez plays Tip's mom.

Called "the inverse of Interstellar", Yahoo! says Home looks at a new species looking for a new home and settling on Earth, "instead of earthlings setting forth to seek out a habitable new planet".

There's also a cat!

But what about that curious name of Parsons? Says Yahoo!'s Meriah Doty, "Boovs are named by their friends. Oh's moniker comes from 'Oh, not him again'."

Oh!

And prepare for tears, as Rihanna last week explained to reporters at Home's press event (and reported by HitFix.com) saying "There's one specific point in the movie that really wrecked me."

"I feel like it's gonna kill everybody because when I was watching it for the first time, it was just stick figures," the pop superstar added. "It didn't even get to the point of animation all the way yet I was bawling my eyes out."

Hitfix also report that Ri-Ri wrote songs for the film - based on 2007 children's sci-fi novel The True Meaning of Smekday - and its soundtrack, saying "Everything's in the music. I worked really closely with Tim and Jeffrey Katzenberg on this, because I wanted to make sure...I can bring them songs, but if it didn't move them...or they didn't feel like it made sense in a certain part, we couldn't use it."

As for Martin playing a bad guy, he sounded excited at the opportunity, saying "I love these characters of dumb villains."

Yahoo! also delivered an interview between Parsons and Rihanna, with Rihanna teaching the Big Bang Theory star some tips on taking the perfect selfie.

"You have to look at yourself," Rihanna explained. "You have to find your angle, that's steep number two. usually the person with the camera looks best in a selfie."

Parson, however, struggled with the tutorial. "Why are you yelling at me? I look awful doing it the way you're telling me!" he joked.

Home will be in cinemas on March 27, 2015. Are you excited? Is Parsons a great choice to play an alien? How about Rihanna acting as a teenage girl?
