'Awkward' Actress Jillian Rose Reed Talks About Her Christmas Plans And Reveals Which Tamara Characteristics She Has

As season four of Awkward is nearing its end (the season finale is Tuesday, Nov. 25) Jillian Rose Reed is talking about her character Tamara and how they are similar. Plus, the actress is revealing her Christmas plans.

Jillian has been playing Tamara, Jenna Hamilton's (played by Ashley Rickards) hilarious, over-the-top, BFF for four seasons now and her character's traits are blending into her normal personality. "It's a mix. When I started playing her, it was mostly just character work, but now that I've been living with her for four years, I've picked out things about the both of us that are similar," Jillian told Cosmopolitan.

"I'm naturally very talky, and she's spunky and talks fast, so that's completely me. I'm an animated person, so the mannerisms and facial expressions come naturally. When I think about differences, I would like to think I'm a little less dramatic than Tamara, though maybe other people see me differently."

Like her character, Jillian believes a good best friend can be you best asset. "It's true to life. If you're lucky enough to have a best friend in the way they have each other [on the show], it's important to call them on their bullshit because that's the way you stay in a friendship," she explained to the publication about the dynamic between Tamara and Jenna.

"I think in high school, it's so easy to say, 'Well, that person did this, so I'm not friends with them anymore' - but what you have to realize is there's a bigger picture. If you love this person and want them in your life forever, sometimes you gotta duke it out."

As season four wraps, the seniors of Palos Hills High School will be finishing their spring break trip in Mexico. Despite the warm summery weather, Jillian has taped in recently; she is looking forward to heading home for Christmas this year and being in the cold.

"Seeing snow! I'm from the Midwest, and every year I look forward to getting out of sunny L.A. and into some snow!" the 22-year-old actress told Zap2It about her favorite thing about Christmas.

The Confessions of a Womanizer also revealed her favorite holiday song saying, "I love 'Silent Night'! I also listen to the old Jessica Simpson holiday album every Christmas!"

Jillian admitted that she gives awesome Christmas presents every year, too. "I don't know about the best gift, but I am a great gift giver. I'm really good at remembering things my family says all year long and getting them those things for Christmas. Best gift I've ever received was the kitty I got when I was a child! Her name was Cynthia, like from Rugrats."
