ABC Picks Up 'Cristela' For A Full Season And Fiona Gubelmann Will Guest Star In ABC Family's 'Melissa & Joey'

ABC has officially picked up Cristela for a full-season. Plus, its sister network, ABC Family, has cast Fiona Gubelmann as a guest star for the hit show, Melissa & Joey.

TV Guide reported that the freshman comedy, Cristela has received a full-season order. Its first season will now be boosted to 22 total episodes. The network ordered nine more episodes for the series that airs on Fridays. Earlier this month, Cristela's lead actress Cristela Alonzo sat down with TV Guide and answered their showrunner survey.

What did we learn? Cristela, who is the show's co-creator, is hilarious and the entire cast has spent the whole day together at Disneyland once. So why should you tune into the freshman series? "I've heard Cristela saves lives. Maybe it can save yours too. (By the way, everyone who told me that was alive.)" Cristela told TV Guide last week.

When talking about the Cristela cast, it is clear that they are a fun bunch. "They're an amazing group of talented people that I respect and love. I had never been to Disneyland and Andrew Leeds (who plays Josh) coordinated a trip for the entire cast to go with me for my first time," she told the publication.

"We all spent the day together and it was one of the best days I've ever had. That's a great example of how this group of people have become part of my family."

In other TV news, Wilfred star Fiona Gublemann will be guest starring in Melissa & Joey in 2015. Zap2It reported that the actress would be playing a romance novelist named Noelle Deveraux who wrote Love and Bondage, a novel similar to Fifty Shades of Grey.

According to the publication she will join Melissa's book club and try to seduce Joey. The episode will air in 2015 and it titled "The Book Club." Until then, you can catch Melissa & Joey's Christmas episode on December 10 on ABC Family.
