What do Meryl Streep and Gwyneth Paltrow have in common? They have both used the same oven to cook their family dinners! The Into the Woods actress had a minor hiccup in her Thanksgiving dinner preparation, but luckily Gwyneth was there to help.

While promoting Into the Woods, in which Meryl plays The Witch, on Live! with Kelly and Michael Wednesday, Dec. 3, the 65-year-old actress revealed that even she has cooking problems during the holiday season. Meryl opened up about how her neighbor and the founder of Goop stepped up and saved Thanksgiving for her.

Meryl described the "Thanksgiving disaster" saying, "My oven didn't work. I hate my oven, I hate it, and you never hate your oven more than on Thanksgiving Day, when it won't cook the turkey."

She told talk-show host Kelly Ripa that despite trying to cook the meat it didn't work with her oven.

"[We] cooked it for about 11 hours on low heat," but nothing cooked except the white meat, she explained.

"But my brother was in charge of the cooking, so I could blame it on him," she added.

Luckily, one of today's cooking gurus lives next to Meryl, and she helped swoop in and save the meal from further disaster.

"In my building is Gwyneth Paltrow. She has the best oven I have ever seen in my life," the Mamma Mia star revealed on the show.

"So I emailed her, and they weren't there, so I went over and I did all the sides in her oven, and my brother was in charge of the turkey that would not cook. The sides were fantastic."

After Kelly asked if she explored the rest of Gwyneth's home, the Devil Wears Prada actress revealed that she didn't but her family was definitely tempted.

"I didn't. I brought one of my daughters, who was dying to. They had to draw lots for who went with me. It's a beautiful, beautiful place," Meryl admitted.
