This week's Homeland, titled "13 Hours in Islamabad," takes place where we left off two weeks ago with Haqqani trying to infiltrate the US embassy through the underground tunnel. Carrie and Saul wake up after their convoy is attacked. She sees that John was killed with a piece of glass through his neck and they are all bloodied. The ambassador notifies Quinn of the breach in security in the tunnel so he asks the military to come back from the convoy. Right after, the soldiers are shot by snipers all around them. Carrie calls Aasar Khan in the ISI/Pakistani Intelligence to help her out. He is sitting next to Tasneem who tells him to only call for help in 10 minutes. He figures out she was helping Haqqani against the Americans.

Back at the embassy, CIA Director Lockhart tells the staff to burn all of the top secret documents, while he takes a top secret account of all of the assets in the region. The terrorists overrun the office and kill man of the workers, but Lockhart manages to escape.

Quinn is underground with a soldier scoping out some terrorists.

Haqqani takes some CIA employees hostage including Max and Fara. He singles out Fara and asks her where the list is, but she doesn't budge.

Quinn overhears on one of the terrorist's walkies that Lockhart is trying to get the list to the vault on the main floor. They kill the terrorists and take the walkies to try and get to Lockhart.

Carrie and Saul are given guns to try and kill the people shooting at them since the Pakistani forces are not coming to help them.

Haqqani brings the hostages to the vault where he tells the ambassador to have Lockhart bring out the list. She says no so he starts killing them one by one. When he gets to Fara he threatens to slit her throat, but Lockhart finally decides to come out against the ambassador's orders. He even pushes her to the ground to get out of his way. He comes out and gives the list to Haqqani, but Haqqani still stabs Fara. Quinn and the soldier see this and start shooting at them, killing some of the men. Haqqani and some of his men get away with Quinn and the soldier running after them. They get underground, but one of the terrorists blows up the pathway so it blocks Quinn from following them. He comes upstairs and sees all of the dead hostages lying on the ground including Max holding Fara, which makes him seethe.

Backup finally arrives for Saul and Carrie, but it's too late. Many of the soldiers have already been killed. When they arrive at the embassy they see a terrorist sign draped on the building.

Four hours later and news has broken of the attack. The ambassador and Lockhart are sitting and fielding calls from the White House. Max tells Carrie she should've been nicer to Fara because all she wanted was to make Carrie proud. Lockhart tells Carrie they're all being evacuated in the morning because the US is cutting all ties with Pakistan. All operations will now be through Kabul, Afghanistan.

The ambassador goes to visit her husband in the embassy prison where he asks her for her belt to kill himself. She says no at first, but he says if she lets him commit suicide then she can still save her political career. Instead, she gives him his belt from a locker to do it and leaves the room.

Quinn keeps asking Saul about the place he was taken to before he was moved because he thinks Haqqani went back there to get treated for a gunshot wound he gave him. It turns into an interrogation because Saul can't remember anything about it. Carrie comes and tells Quinn to stop. She also tells him that they're leaving Pakistan in the morning and he better be on the transport. When he leaves, Carrie consoles Saul, telling him that all of this wasn't his fault.

Quinn goes to the dead terrorist bodies to see if he can find something on them. He finds a cell phone on one of them, which he takes.

Carrie breaks down while calling Fara's father to tell him his daughter was killed.

Quinn leaves the embassy at night in a car where he is followed by Ghazi and his men. He goes into a marketplace and starts a fire to create diversion while the men are after him. He gets into Ghazi's car with a gun to his head telling him to drive. They get to an abandoned warehouse where Quinn demands to know where Haqqani is, but Ghazi tells him he doesn't know. When Quinn hits him over the head, he finds the same cell phone as the terrorist in Ghazi's pocket.

The next morning Carrie tells Lockhart that Quinn is missing and she needs five days to find him. He gives the ok for her to stay, but she won't have cover there. The ambassador wants to know where her husband is so Carrie tells her he is in a different transport to Washington. This surprises her because she thought he would've killed himself by now. The ambassador goes up to his car and looks at him through the window with a look of disgust because he was too much of a coward to do it. Carrie tells Saul she is staying back to find Quinn which he understands. Carrie watches as the cars taking out the first wave of embassy employees leaves for the airport.

Homeland keeps getting better and better. The invasion scenes were so gripping that anything else on TV right now pales in comparison. Bravo to the writers and producers for turning around the show.
