Diem Brown MTV Tribute 'We Heart Diem' & Song - "Beautiful Girls (Diem's Song)" from 'Real World' Co-Star Davis Mallory

The death of MTV's The Real World star, Diem Brown, who sadly passed away on Nov. 14 after her battle with cancer, has touched many people's hearts. The vivacious and full-of-life woman was taken so young and the reality star is sorely missed. That sentiment has inspired "Beautiful Girls (Diem's Song)," written and recorded by Diem's friend, Real World: Denver contestant and Duel 2 castmate, Davis Mallory.    

Davis was a The Real World: The Duel 2 castmate of Diem's, competing against her in the 2009 series of the show. The song was released today via Facebook, with Davis saying: 

"In tribute to Diem Brown, who lost her battle to cancer on Nov 14, I wrote and performed this song "Beautiful Girls (Diem's Song)." Please share this with others today to spread the memories of Diem and be sure to watch her special "We Heart Diem" tonight on MTV at 9PM ET!" 

With lyrics like "'Cause beautiful girls ain't supposed to die young / They were born to fly, they were meant to run / It's not the way it's supposed to be, taking someone like you away from me," it's a touching song and video, full of clips of Diem living her life and showing off her personality to the fullest.

As US Weekly reported, proceeds from the song will go to Diem's charity, MedGift.

Tonight (Tuesday Dec. 9),  MTV will run a Diem Brown tribute at 9 p.m. You can follow along using #WeHeartDiem. 

As part of that tribute, MTV got Real World: Challenge veteran cast member Paula Meronek to write a tribute to Diem. She wrote: 

"I don't want to say goodbye to Diem Brown. And you can't make me. Instead, I welcome the flood of memories that sit behind my tears. I smile. I laugh. I remember the wild, beautiful tornado that is Diem Brown. If there is music, then there is about to be a dance-off. If there is a costume contest, you better be prepared to win second place. If you need a shoulder to cry on, she would offer you both of hers. There is no goodbye here."

The network is also dedicating the 26th season of the series, The Challenge: Battle of the Exes II, to both Diem and fellow Real World: Challenge star, Ryan Knight, who passed away on Thanksgiving.
