Joel McHale wins the Sony email hack. Out of all the stories to come out of the scandal surrounding Sony and their hacked security systems, the funniest belongs to the Community and The Soup star. McHale sent an email to the president of Sony Pictures Television, Steve Mosko, wanting to use his employee discount for a discount on a Sony TV. We'd expect nothing less from the man who plays the incorrigible Jeff Winger.

As reported by Business Insider, McHale "sent an email to Mosko's assistant asking for a discount on an $8,000 Sony TV," in typically brazen, hilarious fashion. Sony, you may remember, cancelled Community after five seasons, before it was then revived by Yahoo! Screen.

McHale's Community co-star Gillian Jacobs tweeted out the news:

The contents of the email read:

Hello Fayanne,

It's Joel McHale. You might remember me from such canceled Sony tv shows as-Community.

Sad.

Very sad.

So when I was talking to Steve about the show ending last Friday, I asked about a discount on a Sony tv. He said of course. He's the greatest as you know. I didn't want to bother him with the specific details of the screen I want so I thought I would bother you. I hope that is it [sic] cool.

It's below. You can check with Steve obviously if this all sounds strange.

I'm not sure how this all works but I'm happy to send a credit card number wherever necessary.

Thanks Fayanne. I'm very much going to miss working at Sony.

Cheers

Joel

Awesome. (The full email exhange is available at Business Insider).

McHale today tweeted out: "U bet your sweet ass I want my employee discount!"

He then later linked to an even bigger TV, worth a whopping $25,000, saying "I should have asked for this one."

Kevin Hart today also responded to leaked Sony emails ... but they weren't quite as funny or kind, calling him — as reported by Mstars News — a money "whore" for not delivering a "social media blitzkrieg" to promote one of his movies. Posting to his Instagram, the short statured comedian said he "makes smart decisions for my brand... I protect my brand."

No word if he, or the similarly slighted Angelina Jolie, also got cheap Sony TVs.
