WATCH: Matthew McConaughey, Woody Harrelson ‘True Detective’ HBO Series Christmas Spoof Following Colin Farrell, Vince Vaughn Season 2 Cast Announcement [VIDEO]

If there's anything better than actually watching HBO's True Detective, it's the below Christmas parody of the now-famed Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson-led drama. Okay, maybe it's not better at all – let's face it, True Detective was pretty awesome – but this spoof is still damn good! Will it be better than Season 2 of True Detective, which has announced Colin Farrell and Vince Vaughn as leads? Let's hope not! The below video plays off the ever so rocky relationship between Rust Cohle (McConaughey) and Marty Hart (Harrelson). Aside from making us laugh out loud (yes, kids ... LOL), this sketch makes us pretty happy that Santa Claus is nothing at all like McConaughey's character. 

Taking place in a dim living room – after all, it is True Detective – the below sketch follows Santa Claus (who is based on Cohle) and his little helper Elf (Hart) as they're preparing to leave a few presents for an awaiting child. Unfortunately, it looks like somebody has already beaten them to the punch.

Well, to us, it says that Matthew McConaughey's True Detective character is the most depressing person to be around during the Holiday Season ... EVER! This guy even has a thing against cookies. COOKIES! Sure, he likes them but how much can you enjoy something if it reminds you of death?

Regardless, we can't help but fall on the side of Marty here for most of the above issues in the video; we love our Smart TVs. We can talk them, and they are pretty cool –– so stop hatin', Cohle!
