Football players are rich and famous for showing, week after week, that they have giant cajones. But Seattle Seahawks RB  Marshawn Lynch was fined by the NFL this week for touching his.

In the latest personification of NFL commissioner Roger Goodell's Catholic school, parent-like grip on the men that make him money, the league fined Lynch $11,050 for "unsportsmanlike actions" following a touchdown Sunday against Arizona, according to ESPN.

That unsportsmanlike action? Lynch grabbed his crotch while falling backwards in jubilation after completing a career-best 79-yard touchdown run, over which he broke multiple tackles and asserted himself as one of the best rushers in the game.

Nobody is saying Lynch conducts himself in the most professional way. He is notorious for failing to speak to reporters, and for giving childish one-word protest answers when he is forced to. But this move wasn't directed at anybody in particular. And isn't there something to be said about letting boys be boys, especially in such testosterone-supported sport like football?

True to form, Lynch didn't comment to the media.

He has 12 touchdowns and 1,246 yards on the season for the Super Bowl defending Seattle Seahawks.

The fine also serves as a potential double standard. Lynch made the same -- or a very similar -- gesture during a 2011 touchdown run that was so impressive it lives on with the nickname "Beastquake," according to KOMO News. Lynch wasn't fined after that game. This time, his actions were enough to make Goodell flinch. Lynch also wasn't flagged during the game, so the officials didn't think it was obscene.

Lynch has already been fined three times for violating the league's media policy, according to KOMO News, making him one of Goodell's favorite targets. Or maybe Goodell is one of Lynch's favorite targets. Which do you think is more likely?
