While James Franco and Seth Rogen's The Interview did pretty damn well over the weekend given the circumstances – mainly in online rentals and sales – it seems there's another person who was pretty happy about it ... Sony exec Amy Pascal. You remember her; Pascal was on the other end of those horrible Scott Rudin emails, which slammed the likes of Angelina Jolie for being a "brat" and "untalented." Of course, that also let to the eventual pull (and then un-pull) of The Interview. Well, now Pascal is hoping the film's success saves her job at Sony following the company's massive email hack at the hands of North Korea ... supposedly.

TMZ caught up is Pascal as she was heading out of LAX. The crew asked the exec whether or not she thinks the film's success will be enough to save her job. To that, she noted, "I hope so." She didn't have too much else to say, having just stepped off of an airplane and probably rather embarrassed over the situation ... maybe?

The Hollywood Reporter claims that since opening on Christmas Day, The Interview has earned $15 million. It's been purchased well over 2 million times, something that THR reports makes it Sony's "biggest online film ever."

Of course, the success is nothing compared to what it would have been should it have opened in theaters on Christmas like initially scheduled, but it's pretty remarkable nonetheless. In fact, the success of the format is leaving many to wonder if this could be a new way we consumer new films –– online purchases.

Check out the below ambush on Pascal from TMZ outside LAX:

So, readers, what do you think about Pascal's comments? Will the release save her job? Should it?
