Paging 2013: One of your favorite couples just had a special reunion over the weekend. Katy Perry and John Mayer's New Year's resolutions must have been to not hold grudges toward each other, as they reportedly went out on a dinner date together over the weekend. The pair dated for two years before calling it quits in February last year, but could things be starting up again between these two? Also, what does this dinner date mean for Perry's new boyfriend Diplo and Mayer's rumored fling Giada De Laurentiis?
Well, according to E! News, it doesn't look like this dinner date was anything less than friendly and casual. The two were both in attendance at a mutual friend's dinner party that took place Saturday, Jan. 3.
The site is reporting that the pair seemed "pretty mellow, relaxed and super friendly with each other," which makes us happy because we are definitely fans of friendly exes, a la Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin and Kate Hudson and Matthew Bellamy.
Thankfully, this reunion doesn't mean Katy's ending her relationship with DJ Diplo, as a source told E! News, "they are still a couple and very much all about each other."
As far as John goes, we're sure he's still laying low after rumors emerged that he was partly responsible for Giada De Laurentiis's divorce. According to Radar Online, the couple enjoyed a steamy hook-up back in 2010 when they were both in attendance at the Boom Boom Room. The fling reportedly put some stress on her family and may have played a part in her divorce to Todd Thompson.
But Giada has since denied that anything was going on between her and John during the time.
