Nelly Back To Work In Australia After Mourning The Death Of His Beloved Grandmother, Verna Haynes [PHOTOS]

MStars News has learned that Nelly is back in action on tour in Australia, after taking a break from everything and everybody when his grandmother passed away back on January 2, 2015.

According to Gold Coast Bulletin, Nelly was spotted shopping at the Marina Mirage with his girlfriend, Shantel Jackson.

The 40-year-old rapper and his Nellyville costar and love-bug shopped at high end fashion stores including Zimmermann, Max & Co and Hermes.

The rapper took to social media and revealed to fans that he was absent due to caring for his ill grandmother, who died two weeks ago.

"Excuse me world if I haven't been very active as of late my heart has been with this woman right here my Beautiful granny Who is very very ill and my strength has been with my fatherI love you very much VERNA HAYNES," [sic] the rapper wrote in the snapshot below.

The rapper updated fans to let them know that his beloved grandmother had died in the early morning of January 2. "Today around 6am I lost One of the strongest women to ever grace this planet my granny was A LADY in every sense of the word..R.I.P GRANNY... .. My strength is with my father and his two sisters for they have endured so much in the past 10 to12months ..!! #HAYNESFAMILY .....," he wrote.

The Nellyville star added more photos of his grandmother and captioned the beautiful snapshot of his grandparents: "YA queen ON HER WAY PAPA....!!!Back together again..!!!! 61years together in life .!!eternity thereafter...!! #HAYNESFAMILY #RIPGRANNY"

According to Mrs. Haynes obituary, she was the mother of Nelly's father, often called by her family, "The Haynes Family's First Lady," and a devoted Baptist church member. The full obituary read:

"Verna Elizabeth Lane was born July 7, 1933 in St. Louis, Mo. to the union of Charles A. and Verna B. Lane. She was the eighth child of thirteen children, 8 of whom preceded her in death (Alice, Evelyn, Charles, George, Frank, Clara, Henrene and Henry). Both parents also preceded her in death. Verna professed her faith at an early age. She obtained her education in the St. Louis Public Schools. Verna was a devoted member of Antioch Baptist Church until she later joined her husband at Trinity Mount Carmel Baptist Church. Verna retired from the United States Postal Service.

Verna met and married her husband, devoted life partner and friend, Ocie Haynes, in 1950. This blessed union created a legacy of seven children, 36 grandchildren, 57 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren. Those lost to them early were four children, Vernell, Ocie Haynes Jr., Darnell O. Haynes and Rudy Haynes, Sr., two grandchildren, Jacqueline Sheree Donahue and Elizabeth Laynette Haynes. Verna E. Haynes, better known as "The Haynes Family's First Lady", deeply loved her family and instilled in them the kinds of values that are life sustaining.

On Friday, January 2, 2015, Verna Elizabeth Haynes was called home. She leaves to cherish her memory: three children and four daughters-in-law, Cornell I. Haynes, Sr. (Dina), Vickie Haynes-Goston, Verna Bonnie Haynes-Jefferson (Curt), Sheila, Shadahyah, Kitanah and Taeir Haynes; three sisters, Mary Crawford, Muriel Pulliam (Oscar) and Rose Davis (John) and one brother, William Lane; plus a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.
In the 81 years she served on this Earth, she fulfilled many dreams and made many memories. She may be gone, but her spirit will definitely stay with us."
