Kathy Griffin's debut as the new host of E!'s Fashion Police the day following the Golden Globes was a rocky one. The flame haired comedienne took shots at Lupita Nyong'o, Amal Clooney, Sienna Miller, Keira Knightley, Emma Stone and plenty more of Hollywood's A-list, but Griffin's performance wasn't quite on point. The Golden Globes gave Griffin and co-hosts Giuliana Rancic, Kelly Osbourne and Brad Goreski plenty to talk about, but the mood was reportedly slightly off, even after Griffin's touching tribute to her dearly departed good friend, Joan Rivers.

Says The Daily Beast's Tim Teeman, "The paucity of Griffin-originated laughs, and the predictability of those that came, and the strange hosting structure and Griffin's lack of sharpness, made for a depressing return of what was once such a zesty hour of irreverence and rudeness."

He adds that without Rivers, perhaps Fashion Police's time is up, as "without someone with Rivers' chops, is there much of a point to laughing scabrously at dresses, or does it all become Mean Girls?"

Similarly, The New York Daily News point out, "Griffin was no Rivers," though "her acid-tongued style of honest, caustic comedy is a direct descendent."

As The Daily Mail said "the chemistry was certainly a departure from the tone set by the former Fashion Police and longtime red carpet presenter Joan."

But the burns were still there. As US Weekly report, Griffin took particular pleasure in singling out Amal Alamuddin Clooney and her long white gloves. "Yeah, she's annoying," Griffin said of the human rights lawyer. "You heard me! Everybody run in fear! I thought it was weird she had those gloves that remind me of, like, a porn scene, where the guy goes home and there's the naughty dishwasher and she only has the gloves."

Though, according to E! Online, she jokingly plenty of time for Keira Knightley's 'Little Bo Peep' Chanel dress.

"I loved it. Yeah, you heard me America and Norway. I loved it, because this is what I'm looking for. I am looking for the inappropriate dress that is high fashion and she might be on everybody's worst dressed list, but like Vogue will love it. Right? I loved that it looked like something out of Silence of the Lambs, there were butterflies everywhere, Little Bo Peep thrown in, it looked like somebody's dolie, but that's what I want on the red carpet. I just thought it was a riot and it made me laugh in all the wrong places. Bring it. Loved it."

And she was bored of Lupita Nyong'o, saying "Yawn. Perfect again. Yeah, you heard me, yawn, perfect again. I do, she's like the Meryl Streep of fashion. Like Meryl Streep should have fifty oscars but they've only given her a couple cause she's always great. I just think, yeah it's cool and it's great and it's beautiful, I'm just a little bored of how kinda perfect and fashiony she is all the time."

According to The Daily Mail, she also had some harsh words for Sienna Miller, saying her dress "looked like my grandma's drapes and she's gorgeous and the neckline is sexy - but I kept looking for the shower rod," and Emma Stone, with Griffin saying "'I love this outfit, but she probably has a rash on her arms because it pricked her all night. The top looks like an arm cuff."

What did you think of Griffin's Fashion Police hosting debut? Do you think she's suited to the role? Will the show get better? The next Fasion Police airs Monday Jan. 19 at 9 p.m. on E!.
