It appears that Rosie Perez's time with The View may be ending soon, if you ask Variety.

According to the site, Perez, who has been part of the ABC show for only four months will not be returning after her one-month hiatus.

The co-host has been away the entire month of January as she appears on the Broadway show, Fish in the Dark, but it seems that Perez won't be returning.

Details have not been given by ABC but, for now other guest celebrities like Michelle Williams have been filling in for both Perez and Whoopi Goldberg, who has been in the hospital recovering from a herniated disc.

MStars News previously reported that Williams slammed the rumors that her "BFF," Beyoncé was pregnant with her second child.

The site explained that Perez was added after the ratings of the show had decreased:

"After declining steadily for a few years, ratings for The View have stabilized in its 18th season with new co-hosts Rosie O'Donnell and Nicolle Wallace joining moderator Whoopi Goldberg; the show is on par with last year in total viewers and down a bit in key demos. Perez was handpicked by the show's new executive producer Bill Wolff as a last-minute choice after the show underwent a reinvention this past summer after the retirement of Barbara Walters.

The choice of Perez was a surprise given the other contenders that were in the mix last year. But Perez never got a hang of the show's mixture of hard and soft news, and she had trouble reading from a TelePrompTer, insiders say."

According to Mediaite, Perez slammed rumors that the ladies of the show were feuding behind the scenes.

Perez claims that the women are having debates, and the heated discussions are "called a cat fight." Perez added,"But at the end of the day we all love each other and respect each other, so, you know, it's just insulting."

Despite the news, Perez claims that she is coming back to the show soon.
