It looks like Angela Bassett and her team did great on their Lifetime original movie. According to Entertainment Weekly, Lifetime had outstanding ratings after they gave Whitney Houston fans a double dose of the singer.

Saturday night started out with the biopic, Whitney, and then a Bobby Brown exclusive special, Bobby Brown: Remembering Whitney, following Whitney Houston Live: Her Greatest Performances.

Lifetime reached 11.8 million viewers on the day that was full of Whitney!

MStars News previously reported that the hit film was directed by Angela Bassett, and featured Yaya DaCosta as the late singer Houston, and Arlen Escarpeta as Bobby Brown.

Bassett is no stranger to channeling stars, portraying singers and famous women like Tina Turner, Rosa Parks, Katherine Jackson and more.

Her work in this weekend's film gained 4.5 million total viewers, becoming Lifetime's most-watched telecast since Flowers in the Attic. The movie report revealed that 2.1 million viewers were around the age of adults 18-49 demographic.

Whitney's vocals were sung by Deborah Cox. The late singer's clothes were brought back to life by costume designer, Mona May.

After the movie, Weekly reported that 91 percent of the viewers tuned in to watch the Bobby Brown: Remembering Whitney special. The one-on-one interview with Brown and Access Hollywood's reporter, Shaun Robinson, gained 4.1 million total viewers with 1.8 million from the coveted demo.

Whitney Houston Live: Her Greatest Performances, hosted by Clive Davis, summed up the night with 3.2 million total viewers and 1.3 million in the demo.

Congrats!! That is truly a job well done, for Bassett's first time a director.
