While season 4 is currently on break on CBS, this is the perfect opportunity to check up on the recent trilogy of Person of Interest. Let's take a look back at Team Machine with Reese (Jim Caviezel), Sameen Shaw (Sarah Shahi), and Finch (Michael Emerson) as they went up against Samaritan.

As we previously mentioned, The Machine was beaten by a much more powerful Artificial Intelligence, known as Samaritan. The stakes grew higher as Samaritan became a bigger and deadlier threat. The group became caught in the crossfire as Samaritan waged war against the Machine and unleashed a virus into the stock exchange.

Here are our five thoughts on the Person of Interest Episodes 10-12:

5) That Is One Creepy Kid

Kudos to the casting director who found child actor Oakes Fegley to play Gabriel, the Samaritan's avatar. In part one,The Cold War, Gabriel promises to destroy the machine and threatens to kill Root (Amy Acker), straight to her face. When Gabriel showed up in part three, I immediately said, "Oh no..."

4) High Concept

Part two, If-The-Else, is my favorite of the three because it gave me all types of feels. As audience members, we see how the Machine thinks as it tries to figure out how to save Team Machine. In one episode, the entire cast meets their demise at the hands of Martine and her operatives. Notice how the music changes from the simulation to the real scenario.

3) That Kiss

I'm not talking about the one between Shaw and Root; but that was pretty awesome too. The fans want that hook-up but the Machine wants Fusco (Kevin Chapman) and Root to get together. In the third simulation, the Machine imagines Fusco making out with Root before they start shooting. I wonder if the show will continue with that idea.

2) No Longer In Control

In part three, Control-Alt-Delete, Control (Camryn Manheim) returns to discover Samaritan has been using her. At the end of the episode, Control is putting the pieces together, realizing there was no terrorist threatening the nation. Elsewhere, Gabriel threatened the White House Chief of Staff, demanding to see the President.

1) Farewell Shaw

In real life, Shahi is pregnant (CONGRATULATIONS), which is why her character is being written off the show. What will happen when Reese and Root finally find Shaw, who's been missing in action? What direction will the show take afterwards? I can't wait to see what happens next.

Person of Interest returns Tuesday, February 3 on CBS at 10pm.
