What do you think of this TV news? Do you think that a new TV series could see a similar amount of success as the movie series? Who can replace Chan and Tucker in these iconic roles? Will you be tuning in for this new series on CBS? Let us know in the comments section below!

We previously reported on Lawrence looking to make the movie series into a TV show. Here is an excerpt from our other coverage:

While we're definitely going to hold out until Chan and Tucker come back for a film, the TV series is a marvelous idea. It might be hard to recreate the dynamic of the two comedic actors, but the fish-out-of-water meets odd-couple aspect of the films is sure to be recreated well on TV. According to Deadline, this show "is expected to stay close to the premise of the original movie, with a stoic, by-the-book Hong Kong police officer ... assigned to a case in Los Angeles, where he's forced to work with a cocky black LAPD officer ... who has no interest in a partner."
