The sexy, provocative tale of desire based on the bestselling book by Zane, Addicted has arrived in an unrated version on Digital HD this week, as the DVD will be available Feb. 10.

MStars News reporter Star Connor had the chance to speak with the author and the person behind the hit movie Addicted to see how she grabbed the name ”Queen of Erotica”

If you haven't seen Addicted then you have already missed out on one film that will give Fifty Shades of Grey a run for its money.

Addicted is about one successful businesswoman, Zoe (Sharon Leal of Why Did I Get Married Too?), whose perfect life almost gets destroyed by her sexual cravings with a sexy painter and sculptor, who leads her down a path that could get her killed and ruin her career and marriage.

This erotic desire film features a well-known cast including Boris Kodjoe (Resident Evil: Retribution), Tasha Smith (Jumping the Broom, and Fox's hit show, Empire), Tyson Beckford (TV’s Make Me a Supermodel), Emayatzy Corinealdi (Middle of Nowhere), Kat Graham (TV’s The Vampire Diaries) and William Levy (The Single Moms Club).

MStars: Are you excited about the release of your movie Addicted?

Zane: I'm always excited. I'm definitely excited.

MS: Is this one of your favorite projects, Addicted?

Zane: Yes, I mean it was my first novel so it will always hold a very special place to my heart ... It's kind of great that it became my first film.

MS: You had an amazing cast in this movie, including my favorite, Boris Kodjoe. What was it like working with this team?

Zane: Well the director and I decided the casting. I had actually met Boris Kodjoe years before the casting of this film, so that was an easy conversation, I knew he was a nice guy, and very professional. When the director brought him up it was a very quick conversation. Sharon Leal was one of the people who auditioned many, many years ago when we were originally going to do the film, and she was one of the top choices of more than 90 women who auditioned, so that was also an easy pick ... actually all the picks were very easy.

MS: With Fifty Shades of Grey coming out, how do you feel Addicted compares, or doesn't compare, or is better?

Zane: I have no idea, I don't know anything about the book or the movie, except I know that it exists. It's not for any particular reason, it's just there are only certain authors that I read, and I have never had the opportunity to read the book. Before I wrote erotic I had never read erotica, so I've never set out to write erotica, so with that being said, I really don't read erotica."

MS: Are you working on any other movies?

Zane: Most definitely there will be another movie.

MS: Besides the emails that people send you about their life, what else out there inspires you?

Zane: I think that a lot of it comes from my childhood, honestly my parents were very interesting people and I just think that I look at life and the world differently then a lot of people do. People are really shocked that I find something positive in just about every situation even in the ones that are very negative. I get that from my parents that showed me different cultures, races and everything as a child.

I'm very observant and I love learning things, I'm like a sponge. I'll go do stuff just to do it.
