FX's 'Justified' Season 6 Spoilers: Are Timothy Olyphant, Walton Goggins, Sam Elliott In "Survival Mode?" [WATCH]

Based on the popular crime novels by the late author Elmore Leonard, the final Season 6 season of Justified continues on FX. Before their inevitable showdown, are Boyd Crowder (Walton Goggins) and Raylan Givens (Timothy Olyphant), Avery Markham (Sam Elliott) in "survival mode" from Ava Crowder (Joelle Carter) and Katherine Hale (Mary Steenburgen)?

In our first recap, Raylan (Olyphant) failed to stop Boyd (Goggins) from pulling off a bank heist. While distracting Dewey Crowe, Boyd pulled out his gun and shot him in the head. Boyd couldn't trust Dewey anymore, which is why he had to die. During the night, Boyd watched Ava (Carter) as she slept, wondering if she is a threat to him as well.

In our second recap, Raylan met with Boyd, who had stolen a ledger from the bank robbery. Though Raylan got the ledger, Ava figured out there was another spot holding money. Katherine Hale though doesn't trust Ava, wondering if she hiding something. Katherine tells all her problems to her lover, Avery Markham (Elliot), who hates disloyalty.

Should Raylan, Boyd, and Markham be suspicious of the women in their lives? Ava is Raylan's criminal informant, and if she doesn't snitch on Boyd, she goes back to prison. Vasquez (Rick Gomez) knows Katherine Hale was the real mastermind behind her husband's criminal organization.

Carter tells TV Fantatic, "I feel like season six gives her and me the opportunity to be in survival mode, but also be a little more manipulative and to take this new position she's in, this new job that she has and try to figure out how both to make it work for her best benefit. She definitely has to do it moment by moment and figure out how to juggle both men.

The Jessabelle actress continues, "She thinks, I think, that if she can avoid Boyd enough that she won't have any information to give Raylan. And she'll be able to get away with it that way, but I mean, as we see, she gets brutally awakened there by Raylan at the end."

Steenburgen mentions to Vulture, "Katherine is fascinating to me. I actually felt I understood her very well from the get-go. She has her own bizarre morality. She wasn't faithful to her husband sexually, but she's faithful to him in terms of avenging his death."
