Musician John Mayer is currently in the middle of hosting CBS' The Late Late Show. The beau to Super Bowl Halftime Show performer Katy Perry kicked off his stint just last night, Feb. 4 and will finish tomorrow, Feb. 6. During last night's starter, the musician took some time to share the stage with not only famed pianist John Legend, who is nominated for an Oscar for his original song "Glory" from last year's epic film Selma but also the likes of Andy Cohen. Additionally, he also borrowed a couple of sharks from Perry's Super Bowl performance. And best of all, there's Instagram evidence...

"What can you expect from #JMLATELATESHOW tonight? An insightful sit-down with the Super Bowl Halftime Sharks and marine biologist. Andy Cohen, Alison Becker and musical guest John Legend join me tonight on CBS!" Mayer captioned the below photo with – showing off just some of the fun he's having on set.

Take a look at the photo from Mayer's Instagram account here:

And in case you missed it, there appears to be footage from last night's Late Late Show with John Mayer premiere. Watch that here:

Last week, MStars News reported that Mayer was prepping for his gig by watching old videos of The Tonight Show. So now we have to ask: did the musician's studying pay off?

Readers, did you tune into Mayer's CBS premiere? What did you think?
