Is the world ready for a black actor to play James Bond? Whatever your answer, it's happening - sort of. Acclaimed Selma leading man David Oyelowo was this week announced as the official voice of James Bond, agent 007 in an upcoming audiobook based on the Ian Fleming novels that have since turned into a franchise of successful movies. He won't replace Daniel Craig on the big screen after 2015's Spectre, but he will be remembered as the voice of Bond in Trigger Mortis, written by Anthony Horowitz. Considering this is part of a hot topic, we have to wonder if Idris Elba was considered for this voice acting work after making headlines as a possible Craig replacement. With a name that translates into "a King deserves respect," the 39-year-old British actor always knew he was destined to do great things. Following notable roles as a Tuskeegee Airman in George Lucas' Red Tails, Louis Gaines in The Butler and Martin Luther King, Jr. in the Oscar-winning film Selma, there is no denying the world is bowing down and taking notice. Fans of the Marvel Comic Books superhero Black Panther were pretty excited to learn that Selma director Ava DuVernay was approached to take on the role of director in the highly anticipated movie adaptation of the character. Unfortunately, news of DuVernay's turning down the project has already spread faster than any casting rumors, so we won't get to see how the filmmaker would handle one of Marvel Cinematic Universe's movies just yet. Musician John Mayer is currently in the middle of hosting CBS’ The Late Late Show. The beau to Super Bowl Halftime Show performer Katy Perry kicked off his stint just last night, Feb. 4 and will finish tomorrow, Feb. 6. During last night’s starter, the musician took some time to share the stage with not only famed pianist John Legend, who is nominated for an Oscar for his original song “Glory” from last year’s epic film Selma but also the likes of Andy Cohen. "MStars News" has learned that the infamous gossip site is starting up its share of rumors by claiming that John Legend, Chrissy Teigen's husband, is gay! According to The Gossip Cop, the site claims that usually reports on the negative side of journalism decided to make up a story that Legend has been on the down-low for sometime. Gossip Cop says that MTO wrote: "Y'all Are NOT Gonna Convince Us That Singer JOHN LEGEND Is STRAIGHT... He Was On TV Yesterday... Wearing MORE MAKEUP THAN A DRAG QUEEN!!!" This isn't the first time Legend has been questioned about his sexuality, but the singer has slammed those allegations and doesn't need to explain himself again! And as for those outrageous "drag queen" quotes: Just because a man wears makeup doesn't mean he's gay, and if you're a journalist, just like MTO claims to be, then you know makeup helps while people are on camera! Duh! Gossip Cop claims that MTO adds, "John Legend and Common were both on "Good Morning America" yesterday. Common looked regular... but John called in Beyoncé's MAKEUP GUY to fully beat his face. That man got some TANG in him.... we promise you..."
