The February 9, 2015 edition of WWE's Monday Night Raw emanates live from the Value City Arena at the Jerome Schottenstein Center in Columbus, Ohio and begins with Roman Reigns.
He says The Authority does not want him as the top guy, but he'll prove himself by winning the Royal Rumble, beating Daniel Bryan at Fast Lane, and taking the WWE World Heavyweight Championship from Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 31.
Bryan says he came out to thank Reigns for spearing Big Show last week and helping him secure the win against Seth Rollins. He hypes the Fast Lane match and says he is a better wrestler than Reigns. The two stare each other down until The Authority comes out.
Stephanie McMahon plugs the WWE Network, and Triple H talks about his impending showdown with Sting. He says he has not heard from Sting yet, so he wants an answer by the end of the night. Stephanie derides Reigns for spearing Show and Bryan for stuffing Kane in a casket two weeks ago. Daniel Bryan makes a Katie Vick reference.
The Authority books them in a tag team match against Big Show and Kane right now. Bryan works as the face in the ring for most of the match, though Reigns gets involved too. Bryan has Kane in the Yes Lock, but Show pulls him out and tosses him into the timekeeper's area to cause the DQ.
A brawl breaks out after the bell. Show tries to attack Reigns, but he gets walloped with a chair a few times and tossed over the ropes. Kane tries to hit him from behind, but Bryan comes in and tries to dropkick him. Kane dodges and Bryan hits Reigns. The two jaw at each other for a bit and Reigns shoves Bryan.
Triple H grabs a mic, delighted, and books Reigns and Bryan into another match against Seth Rollins, Big Show, Kane, and J&J Security.
Ryback defeats Seth Rollins by DQ when J&J Security gets involved. Ryback eats a Curb Stomp.
We get word that Sheamus will be back soon.
Paige defeats Brie Bella with RamPaige despite attempted interference from Nikki Bella. Paige had "RIP Drew McDonald" written on her arms. Nikki tries to attack Paige after the match but she escapes.
Rusev comes out with Lana, who says Rusev is proud to be facing John Cena at Fast Lane, and Cena should feel the same. She compliments Cena's "Never Give Up" motto and calls him one of the greatest champions in WWE history. She shows a video showing his feats, but it turns into a video of him getting his ass kicked. Lana questions how Cena can keep going after 13 years of this. She says he is better than ever on the outside, but inside he is broken.
Rusev takes the microphone and says the old John Cena no longer exists. Rusev calls himself a hero and says Cena wants nothing to do with him. Rusev says Cena is no longer the young man he was, and he is now a weak man with no fighting spirit, so Rusev will crush him at Fast Lane.
Cena comes out and still has his injured eye. He says Rusev is talking like he already won the match, but that's not the case. Cena says he has been beaten up over his career but he always comes back. Cena says this old man will give Rusev the beating of a lifetime at Fast Lane.
Rusev says Cena can't see him, and Cena challenges him to a fight. Rusev accepts and the two brawl in the aisle. He pokes Cena in his bad eye and throws him into the LED board to knock him out cold.
Bray Wyatt defeats Dolph Ziggler with a hellacious clothesline and Sister Abigail. After the bell, Wyatt drags Ziggler outside the ring and lifts up the protective padding on the floor. But the referees stop him, so Wyatt just stands over Ziggler's body and laughs.
WWE honors Junkyard Dog for Black History Month.
Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman head to the ring. Heyman says how misinformation has infected our society, and he mentions the Brian Williams controversy. He says Williams is the second biggest liar in the country, behind a tie between Daniel Bryan and Roman Reigns. Heyman says they are lying when they say they are ready for Brock Lesnar.
Heyman starts with Reigns and talks about his roots from the most dangerous area of Samoa, but then says he urinated himself when he faced Brock Lesnar.
As for Bryan, Heyman does a Yes chant and says Bryan is the ultimate overachiever. Heyman says Bryan is lying to himself when he says he can beat Brock Lesnar. He touts Bryan's ability but asks if he can beat the one in 21-1?
Heyman says whomever wins should get in a helicopter with Brian Williams and subject himself to enemy fire, because that would be nothing compared to an F-5.
The New Day defeats The Dust Brothers, who continue to have problems. Goldust calls Stardust by the name Cody, which causes him to walk out. Goldust fights of The New Day briefly but tries to talk to his brother, which allows Xavier Woods to roll him up for the pin.
Renee Young interviews Daniel Bryan and asks about the incident with Reigns earlier. She asks if they can coexist, and Reigns enters and says they can because they have a common enemy in the Authority. Defeating them would allow the two to focus on their match at Fast Lane.
Stardust is backstage when Goldust enters. Dustin Rhodes tries to talk to Cody, but his brother shoves him and says "Cody is dead." He hisses and leaves, which stunds Goldust.
Triple H hits the ring and says Sting stayed out of WWE for 14 years because he knew Hunter would take him out. But at Survivor Series, Sting attacked like a coward. But HHH is a man and challenges Sting to meet him face to face at Fast Lane so that he can show why Sting made the right choice to stay away for so long. And if Sting promises to leave for good, then Triple H will let him leave with his dignity.
Triple H says he is patient, but his patience is running out and he wants and an swer right now.
A crow caws and the lights go out. After another caw, a spotlight shines in the luxury box where Sting is. The lights go out and another caw occurs, and this time the spotlight is on one of the concourses, where Sting is standing. The lights go out a third time, and a video package starts to play. At the end, the words "Triple H" appear on the TitanTron. All the lights in the building go out and another caw occurs. A Sting lookalike comes up behind Triple H and makes him jump. After he leaves, the words "I accept" show up on the screen.
Tyson Kidd and Cesaro defeat The Usos in a non-title match after Cesaro distracts the referee, which allows Kidd to get the pin.
Rikishi is announced as the next member of the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2015.
Sin Cara defeats Damien Mizdow after Miz causes a distraction. He had a microphone and ringside and kept talking to his stunt double/personal assistant. At one point he made Mizdow get him water. Mizdow goes for the Figure Four but Miz yells at him not to do it. This allows Sin Cara to roll him up for the win.
Bray Wyatt cuts another promo that seems to tease a confrontation with the Undertaker yet again.
Curtis Axel cuts another promo about the Royal Rumble and says it's a conspiracy that he's not going to WrestleMania. Dean Ambrose defeats him in their match with Dirty Deeds. He gets on the mic and demands an Intercontinental Championship match with Bad News Barrett. BNB appears on the TitanTron and rejects him again.
The handicap match main event turns into a beat down. The Authority tears the announce table apart, but Ryback and Ziggler come out to make the save. Bryan is left with J&J Security in the ring and he takes out both of them. He sets up for the running knee on Joey Mercury, but Reigns tags himself in and spears Mercury for the pin.
After the bell, Bryan gets in Reigns' face. Reigns tries to leave but Bryan turns him around and yells at him some more. Bryan shoves him, and Reigns responds with a spear. Reigns exits the ring as Bryan lays there in pain as the show goes off the air.
