Season 4 of Person of Interest returns with an all-new action-packed episode on CBS. With Shaw (Sarah Shahi)'s whereabouts still unknown, will Finch (Michael Emerson), and Reese (Jim Caviezel) suddenly find themselves deemed 'Guilty' by the court and Samaritan.

Finch tries to get out of jury duty but the Machine wants him to tsay. Reese meets with Iris (Wrenn Schmidt), his therapist, but he doesn't want to talk about the death in his "family." Fusco (Kevin Chapman) realizes Reese is pushing him away and taking cases on his own.

After Reese gets a number from the Machine, Finch discovers the trial is about a wife murdered by his husband. The new number Finch has to protect is sitting next to him, Emma (Blair Brown). Finch realizes Emma has been lying and wanted to be in the jury on purpose. Reese's missing person case is leading Fusco on a trail to Elias.

Reeling from the loss of Shaw, Reese gets back into therapy with Iris. As the trial continues, Finch traces Emma's call and figures out she is being given orders. Emma is actually an unwilling participant in a murder conspiracy. Someone is willing to kill to get the jury to vote the same way.

After a juror is poisoned, Finch is looking for a fixer as Zoe Morgan (Paige Turco) has returned. Though they are both reluctant, Zoe is helping find out with who is jury tampering. Finch has to raise reasonable doubt, in order to save Emma. Zoe realizes Reese is interested in someone else, but their relationship won't last.

Reese is uncomfortable being in therapy with Iris, until she breaks the ice. He talks about his father, who he lost as a young boy. Losing people is an occupational hazard, but Reese cannot protect others from life. As the jury deliberates, Emma is actually pushing for "guilty," which goes against Finch's plans.

Finch changes his verdict, which annoys everyone in the room. As the jury takes a break, Reese and Zoe discover there was a coverup and the husband was framed. The fixer has leaked footage, fighting back against Finch's decision. Emma discovers the fixer is now after Finch.

Reese spots Emma trying to commit suicide. As Finch stops her from jumping, Zoe has the fixer's location. The fixer is actually one of jurors and attacks them. Reese arrives in the nick of time, saves Finch, and knocks out the fixer.

Due to new evidence, the trial is dismissed. After Zoe says goodbye to Reese, Fusco says he's willing to die; to stop shutting him out. Back in therapy, Reese has been afraid to get close with someone, love and loss are inevitable.

Reese and Finch start focusing on a missing person's case, which leads them to the mob war between Dominic and Elias.
