With Sharknado 3 already in the works, Syfy has announced a new cast addition to the upcoming third installment. Actress Cassie Scerbo is joining alongside regulars Tara Reid (April Wexler) and Ian Ziering (Fin Shepard) for the third part of the highly successful Sharknado franchise.

As we previously mentioned, Sharknado 2: The Other One took viewers to the the Big Apple as a storm of biblical proportions hit the streets. Reunited after being estranged, Fin (Ziering) and April (Reid) are back fighting sharks that keep falling from the sky. This time around, Fin had to save his former best friend, Martin (Mark McGrath) and his sister Ellen (Kari Wuhrer) before New York's famous landmarks became toppled over by the massive floods.

In the plot of Sharknado 3, the unnatural weather disaster will cause mass destruction in the nation's capital, Washington, D.C., then roar down to the Eastern Seaboard. Thunder Levin, who penned the first two installments, has certainly come up with a way to make the adventure bigger in scope.

With the American Pie actress and the Beverly Hills 90210 alum returning, according to Deadline, so is the Make It Or Break it actress. Scerbo is reprising her role as Nova Clarke, from the first Sharknado installment. If you remember in part one, Nova shoot at a shark flying out of manhole, while shouting, "And, I'm not a stripper!" We can only speculate if Nova is still dating Fin and April's son.

Check out Scerbo talking about the film's unexpected success here:

Due to the phenomena of Sharknado: The Second One, developer Other Ocean has a special deal for players with Sharknado: The Video Game. Gamers get a chance to play as Ziering's heroic Fin Shepard for absolutely free, at the asking price of nothing.
