Based on the sci-fi flick from visionary director Terry Gilliam and movie star Bruce Willis, 12 Monkeys is making its way to the Syfy cable channel. With the present and future timelines clashing, will Cole (Aaron Stanford) and Cassandra (Amanda Schull) discover the "dark corners" of time-travel?

As we previously mentioned, the Nikita star plays Cole, a man from 2043. In his future, humanity has been nearly wiped out by a mysterious viral outbreak. His mission is to travel back in time and prevent the outbreak from ever taking place. In the present day, Cole believes Dr. Cassandra Railly (Shull), the only person who believes he is a time-traveler, can actually help him in succeeding with the mission.

Just in case you haven't seen the pilot (which we at MStars saw and loved), don't forget to see the first 9 minutes of the sci-fi series here.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, showrunner Natalie Chaidez teases what to expect from the Army of the 12 Monkeys and the 2043 future timeline.

Chaldez reveals, "In the series, we have the time to explore what was around those dark corners that we couldn't peer around in the movie. We really get to dig into how people survive in the future and how they are living. We have a group of people called Scavengers. They are the people who have survived but not always with the best morality. They've done what they've had to do."
