Anyone who watched this past Sunday's Saturday Night Live 40th anniversary special is well aware that the show was a star-studded event filled with some of the biggest names in comedy, TV, film and music. And as great as the show was, the after party proved to be even better. How do we know? Well, The Tonight Show host Jimmy Fallon told a lengthy (yet totally entertaining) tale of the evening's happenings. One that included Eddie Murphy's iconic SNL return, hanging with Jack Nicholson, Jerry Seinfeld and Chris Rock and his time inadvertently emceeing the after party and what it was like jamming with Sir Paul McCartney and Taylor Swift on "Shake It Off."

Fallon took to the story appearing a bit groggy––perhaps a result of all that "Kool-Aid" he had the night before. Regardless, the comedian pushed onward and delivered an entertaining tale of the previous night's events.

"There's gonna be a lot of name dropping," Fallon said before kicking off the story. Afterwards, the NBC host told what it was like during rehearsals standing amid a group of comedy legends, including Rock, Seinfeld, Lorne Michaels and Murphy. The latter of whom stated the SNL studios seemed "smaller" than he remembered.

Adding to the list of intimidating attendees, Fallon admitted that Nicholson, McCartney and Seinfeld then made an appearance. "This was my comedy act!" he joked.

Then came the after party... which seemed unbelievable. Check out the host's story here:
