Warner Bros. has put another big name to fill in the phenomenal cast of the super-villain team, Task Force X. In the Suicide Squad movie, actor Joel Kinnaman (The Killing) joins Margot Robbie (Harley Quinn), Jared Leto (Joker), Will Smith (Deadshot), Jai Courtney (Captain Boomerang), Viola Davis (Amanda Waller) and Cara Delevingne (Enchantress) as Rick Flag.

As we previously mentioned, when the government has a mission too hot for the superheroes to handle, they send in the bad guys to take care of the business. In a plot reminiscent of The Dirty Dozen, if the Suicide Squad - which includes the captured band of super-villains Harley Quinn, Deadshot, Captain Boomerang - survives their deadly mission, their prison sentence will then be reduced.

In the mythology, the team is run by government agent, Amanda Waller (Davis), who has earned the nickname "The Wall" by her associates. Reportedly, the Disturbia actress will seen alongside Deathstroke, aka Slade Wilson, in the adaptation.

As we mentioned before, Tom Hardy had first signed on the dotted line to star in writer/director David Ayer (Training Day)'s action/heist flick. Due to scheduling conflicts, screen time, and script issues, the Dark Knight Rises actor left the project with an empty void. The rumor mill then started to add names, including Jake Gyllenhaal (Nightcrawler) to reunite with his End of Watch director.

According to Latino Review, the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo actor was in negations with the project. Then The Wrap confirmed the 35-year-old Swedish actor has signed on to play the DC Comics war hero.

Kinnaman will next be seen in the Liam Neeson acton/thriller, Run All Night, when the film opens March 13, 2015. The Suicide Squad feature film is scheduled to open in August 5, 2016.

Readers, are you excited to see Joel Kinnaman join Task Force X on the big screen?
