Will the sadness never end? It doesn't seem that way -- at least not on The Vampire Diaries. Fans just had to mourn the loss of Sheriff Forbes (Marguerite MacIntyre), along with the departure of Jeremy Gilbert (Steven R. McQueen), and it seems like things are going to get even more emotional from here on out. Candice Accola, who plays Caroline Forbes on the hit CW series, explained that this week's episode is going to be just as gut-wrenching as last week's.

The supernatural soap drama has been playing with our emotions for the last six years, but it was last week's scene where Caroline prepared the family's cabin for her mother's final days before learning that she was dying in the hospital that really got us emotional.

The star spoke out to E! News to give the news site some spoilers on what is to come for some of our Mystic Falls favorites.

"If you thought it was going to get easer and happier and jollier, it's not," Accola told the site. "It's definitely going to be an emotional episode this week as well. Thank God for waterproof mascara!"

As for one of the scenes that fans have been waiting all season for -- yup, we're talking about that Caroline and Stefan kiss -- Accola said that in the wake of Sheriff Forbes's death they will have to have a serious talk about where their relationship goes from here.

"The death of Caroline's mom will definitely have an effect on Caroline and Stefan's relationship," the star told the news site. "Most importantly, the first thing they need to do is have a talk. Whatever moment they had was obviously cut short by the fact that Sheriff Forbes was in the hospital."

Candice also spoke out to TV Guide about the upcoming episode and even mentioned that fans are going to get to hear her sing again.

"For years everyone was like, 'Is Caroline going to sing again?' That's been the running joke," the star said, adding that she does belt out a tune during her mom's funeral. "I did sing and it's a sweet moment, she pays tribute and it's a really tender moment in a very sad funeral."
