Though The Flash is currently on hiatus, the CW network is currently working on plans for the rest of its first season. In order to save his mother and clear his father's name, is Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) is ready to face "his darkest hour" when the scarlet speedster suddenly time-travels?

In our previous recap, Firestorm's body was going to explode if their temperature didn't cool down. Though Harrison Wells (Tom Cavanagh) was ready to pull the trigger, Caitlin (Danielle Panabaker) convinced him to try and save them. Though the quantum splicer was put on Martin (Victor Garber)/Ronnie (Robbie Amell), his body couldn't handle it and caused a nuclear explosion, which caught the attention of General Wade Eiling (Clancy Brown).

In our recent recap, Martin Stein (Garber) explained his theory of time-travel to Barry (Gustin). There is a hole in the time continuum, but Barry believes he is destined to fail his mother on the night of her murder. After rescuing Firestorm from General Wade Eiling, Barry realized he has a chance to change things if he's meant to go back in time.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, executive producer Andrew Kreisberg teases, "There's an episode coming up where there is inadvertent connection to the Speed Force that results in probably our funniest hour as well as our darkest hour as the dangers of time travel come to light."

Gustin adds, "It's a complete accident the first time [he time travels]. It's really confusing because now we're playing with timelines and we're having to shoot things a couple different ways. It's like a Groundhog Day-type element. It's really funny and really exciting."

Check out Out of Time here:

In the cliff-hanger, Gorilla Grodd made another appearance, this time killing General Wade Eiling. Caitlin realizes Iris West (Candice Patton) is spying on her, trying to get info on "The Burning Man."

Kriesberg teases that after the time-travel episode, "things are never going to be the same on The Flash."

The Flash is currently on hiatus and will return March 17 on CW.
