FX's 'Justified' Season 6 Recap: 'Alive Day': Will Timothy Olyphant, Walton Goggins Face Death?

Based on the popular crime novels by the late author Elmore Leonard, the final Season 6 season of Justified continues on FX with an all-new episode. Will Raylan Givens (Timothy Olyphant) and Boyd Crowder (Walton Goggins) suddenly find death instead in 'Alive Day?'

During the night, Boyd arrives home, spots Raylan's car, and enters. While Ava is cooking dinner, Raylan wants to know about Dewey Crowe. As they both sit at the table, Raylan continues hinting about Avery Markham (Sam Elliott). Before Raylan leaves, Boyd wraps his arm around Ava and kisses her, showing that she's still his. 

Ty Walker (Garret Dillahunt) wants to know how he can get rid of Calhoun's dead body. Choo-Choo (Duke Davis Roberts) realizes that Calhoun's death is his fault. He will kill Calhoun's mistress/secretary to set things right. 

Ava meets with Zachariah (Jeff Fahey) at her front porch. Still thinking of Ava as a little girl, Zachariah wants to protect her from Boyd. He's working for Boyd because he needs bills to pay.  While Zachariah and Boyd head off, Katherine Hale (Mary Steenburgen) discovers Avery's engagement ring for her. They kiss but she hasn't exactly said yes. 

Katherine reveals she cheated on her husband, but she didn't snitch on him. As long as Katherine is straight with him, Avery promises nothing bad will happen to her. Raylan and Tim (Jacob Pitts) discover Calhoun's dead body in the woods. Because of the knuckle marks, they both know Choo-Choo had something to do with it. 

At the pizza place, Raylan meets with Avery again to talk about Calhoun's murder. Avery is caught by surprise, who didn't know about the realtor's death. Choo-Choo picks up Calhoun's mistress, Caprice (Ashley Dulaney) in his car. Though he likes her, his morbid conversation starts to scare her. 

In construction gear, Boyd and Zachariah go down the underground mine shafts. Back at the office, Art (Nick Searcy) meets with Rachel (Erica Tazel) about an old case. They both know Ava cannot be trusted and worry they'll have to pull Raylan off the case, start from scratch.

Ava calls Raylan and tells him about Boyd's meeting with Zachariah. After seeing the engagement ring, Wynn Duffy (Jere Burns) thinks Avery is the snitch who turned on Katherine's husband They will have to kill him slow if he's playing her. 

After Avery orders the death of Choo-Choo, Ty realizes Caprice is till alive. Ava's babysitter reveals the name of the mine shaft Boyd is working on. Boyd ends up falling through the boards. Zachariah ties himself up with rope and pulls Boyd back up. 

During Ty's confrontation with Choo-Choo, Tim and Raylan show up to save Caprice. Soon everyone starts shooting and Choo-Choo gets hit twice. While Ty escapes, Raylan shoots out the tires as Choo-Choo drives away. 

Zachariah kills one of Boyd's crew because he found out the wooden boards were purposely cut. Bleeding from his bullet wounds, Choo-Choo dies just as he is almost hit by a railroad train. Back at home, Boyd gets a call from Limehouse (Mykelti Williamson), who sequels on Ava's escape.
