The Divergent Series: Insurgent hits theaters on March 20, 2015, but will fans of the novel on which it's based enjoy the movie? According to author Veronica Roth, there are "clear differences" between her novel and the film we'll be watching next month. That doesn't mean she didn't like the movie, though! Check out what the best seller wrote on her official website about Insurgent this week!

Going into some great detail on the recent trailers we've seen for the film, specifically the one released this week, Roth explains that fans of the book series would definitely see some big differences. For instance, Roth explains that Tris battles with shooting a gun in her books, but in the trailer we see her handling firearms often.

This and many other factors of the trailers made her apprehensive about seeing the movie, but the finished product has won her over, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

"I know that some of you are probably apprehensive because as the trailers have revealed, there are a few clear differences between the book and the movie. I shared that apprehension walking into the screening room, but I walked out of the movie relieved-and excited. Insurgent, the book, has a complicated plot-a lot of moving parts, a lot of ups and downs," Roth wrote on her official Tumblr this week. "That sort of thing can work in a book, but if it's translated directly to the screen, it makes for a messy, confusing movie. The changes that were made streamline the story so it makes sense for this new format; in other words, they work."
