We guess a little BDSM really does bring families together. Dakota Johnson got a little help from her parents, Melanie Griffith and Don Johnson over the weekend, as the Fifty Shades of Grey starlet took over the hosting gig for SNL this week. The 25-year-old star took over the reigns of the long running comedy sketch show, and we think she did a pretty awesome job, if we do say so ourselves.

According to Radar Online, the star's monologue paid homage to her role in erotic movie, and also gave a shout out to her parents who were supporting her from the audience.

"You may not know this but my parents are Melanie Griffith and Don Johnson," the actress said to the audience. "It is incredible that I am standing on this stage right now because in December 1988 my mother stood in the exact spot and hosted SNL."

While they have yet to see their daughter's film, the former lovers had no problem showing up to support her on Saturday Night Live. They even got the chance to be a part of her opening sketch.

When the actress pointed them out in the audience, they were shielding their view from her, and when asked what they were doing her parents hilariously stated, "We were just worried that you were going to be naked."

Another one of Dakota's memorable sketchs from this episode featured her as an office worker alongside Aidy Bryant, Cecily Strong, and Bobby Moynihan, according to E! News. The sketch titled, "I Can't" was set in an office as the workers couldn't help but complain about anything and everything, using phrases like "can't even," and "literally" over and over again.

Other sketches included a tribute to Leonard Nimoy, as well as a truth telling segment set to the music of Sara Bareilles' song "Brave."
