Even though Tron: Legacy, the late sequel to the 1982 film Tron, hit theaters in 2010, a new sequel to the Joseph Kosinksi film will apparently start filming in the fall of 2015. Reports are claiming Garrett Hedlund is set to return as Sam Flynn, the son of Kevin Flynn, portrayed by Jeff Bridges. So what kind of sequel should we expect and what other stars will return to the Grid in this new film? Check out more on this news below!

According to VanCity Buzz (via Gamma Squad), apparently Hedlund is the only star coming back to the series. Bridges, the star of the first film, hasn't signed on as of yet, but odds are that he'll reprise his role as much as he can. He isn't exactly known for turning down roles.

One would hope that Olivia Wilde returns to the franchise to reprise her role of Quorra, who plays a big part in the series' newly established story. Her increasing fame and draw to films could keep her off the project, but we're sure Disney can make her a pretty good offer to reprise her role.

We should also wonder if Daft Punk will return to compose for the project! The electronic music duo certainly played a large part in the reboot in 2010, so we'll definitely be hoping they return. Or perhaps another act should take over where the French team left off?

With the next Tron movie filming this October, what other news updates are you excited to hear about? Are you hoping others join the project or are you more worried about making sure the other stars return? Let us know what you think of this recent movie news in the comments section below!
