The Dream of Becoming a Super Saiyan Comes True with 'Dragon Ball XenoVerse' [VIDEO]

If you ever dreamed of becoming a Super Saiyan after all those years of watching Dragon Ball Z on Cartoon Network's anime block Toonami, your time has come. Dragon Ball XenoVerse for the PlayStation 3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One and Microsoft computers brings the childhood dream to life. The game gives players the chance to customize characters from their faces, voices, clothing, Kamehameha color and favorite DBZ race. It's almost in the vein of WWE's Create a Wrestler mode, except it goes a bit deeper.

Naturally, if you wish to don the magnificent golden locks of the Super Saiyan, you'd have to pick the Saiyan Race in Xenoverse's create-a-fighter mode. Look, it's tempting to be a Namekian or the gender non-specific thing Frieza is, but those races don't get you what you want and what you want is the power of the legendary Super Saiyan.

Once that is out of the way, the next part is tough and time-consuming. In order to gain the Super Saiyan skill, you have to unlock the Legendary Super Saiyan Parallel Quest by finishing the Frieza Saga.

Inside the Parallel Quest you'll need to complete a series of battles -- and oh, boy, do you have to be uber-specific for this. After beating the team of Piccolo and Gohan and surviving a one-on-one Vegeta fight, you'll be transported to the final stage. (Vegeta losing is a staple in the DBZ series.) There you'll face Goku and Krillin, and that's when things get frustrating.

What you have to do here is kill Krillin first. At this point, Goku might turn into a Super Saiyan. Sadly, if Goku does not, you have to restart the battle and keep killing his little buddy until he does.

After Goku finally transforms, now you'll have to kill him before he kills Frieza. A dead Frieza before a dead Goku means you have to once again restart the battle from the beginning.

If you meet these conditions, then the gods of the DBZ XenoVerse universe may bless you with the Super Saiyan skill. Of course, you could always wait until you complete the Cell Saga and buy the Super Saiyan skill in the shop, but does buying legendary power make you a warrior?
