Kathy Griffin Says Late Joan Rivers Show 'Fashion Police' is a "Dog Pile" After Giuliana Rancic's Zendaya Comment, Kelly Osbourne's Exit

It may be time for E!'s Fashion Police to go in a different direction. On Monday, former co-host Kathy Griffin spoke to The View about her decision to quit the show, calling Fashion Police a "dog pile" that "felt disingenuous."

Griffin commented that she "had no idea" former co-host Giuliana Rancic would make the "patchouli oil" remark about Zendaya Coleman's dreadlocks that has since spurred intense backlash, and described her experience on the show.

"You're kind of vulnerable[..]It's a little different than what felt to me, sort of like a dog pile," the former host explained. "Right now, on the red carpet, all these women look so great[...]I didn't want to say that Meryl Streep didn't look great, because she looked great. So sometimes it just felt disingenuous to me[...]After awhile, I kind of felt like I was being forced to comment about pictures of beautiful women in perfect dresses and say bad things."

Rumor had it that Fashion Police might be cancelled as a result of Griffin and Kelly Osbourne's respective exits from the show following the incident with Rancic and Zendaya at the Oscars. Now, sources "connected with production" told TMZ that E! doesn't plan on cancelling Fashion Police after all. This confirms the network's initial statement that Fashion Police will return as scheduled on Monday, March 30th at 9pm with co-hosts Rancic and Brad Goresky, the only two hosts left on the show after Griffin and Osbourne quit. According to TMZ's sources, E! executives "have already met to discuss the future of the show" and decided to give  Fashion Police a second chance, at least for now. The network reportedly plans to recast the available co-host spots.

Fashion Police appears to have been in a steady decline since the late former host Joan Rivers' passing, and it's hard to believe the show could possibly go on. There's no word on who might be recast to replace Griffin and Osbourne, but with all the controversy surrounding the show, that may prove to be a difficult spot to fill.
