Could this be the end of One Direction as we know it? It might be as Zayn Malik has reportedly left his buddies in the lurch as he has opted out of this leg of 1D's new tour. The U.K. based band is currently on the road but it seems that Malik is dealing with a lot of person stress and anxiety that he is taking the next three tour dates off in hopes to get his mind right.

The band's publicist, Simon Jones, took to his Twitter account earlier today to reveal the news of Malik's departure.

"1D statement: Zayn has been signed off with stress and is flying back to the U.K. to recuperate," a rep for the band explained to the news site.

"The band wish him well and will continue with their performances in Manila and Jakarta."

This isn't the first time that Malik has missed appearances and performances, as Entertainment Weekly reported that he has missed numerous tour dates as well as talk show appearances. After missing a Today Show appearance last summer, host Matt Lauer speculated that the singer was doing drugs.

However, Malik is hopeful that he will return to the road with his guys when the group heads down to South Africa on March 28, according to U.K. news site The Mirror.

The site is reporting that Malik has been dealing with stress revolving around a picture that was posted of him and a fan, where he has his hand on the girl's stomach.

"Zayn finds it tougher than the rest of his bandmates dealing with fame," the news site reported. "Having his every movement scrutinized caused great anxiety and the picture which surfaced with the fan yesterday was the final straw.

Get better soon, Zayn!
