AMC's highly anticipated TV show adaption of the popular comic series Preacher is quickly getting ready to start filming this summer thanks to great new cast additions! This week, we learned that the latest casting update names Misfits actor Joseph Gilgun as the fan-favorite character from the graphic novels, Cassidy. You can find out more about this upcoming series from Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, as well as the Vampire Cassidy below!

Deadline broke this news, sharing the following character description of Cassidy (via Gamma Squad):

He may be 100 years dead but no one's more boisterously alive than Proinsias Cassidy. An incorrigible mischief-maker, Cassidy's up for anything - joyriding, bungee-jumping, bank robbing, peyote dropping. He's also a relentless conversationalist with opinions on everything from religion to politics to pop culture to theories on why people are better able to tolerate the odor of their own flatulence...

For those of us familiar with Gilgun, we believe this is some perfect casting! The actor joins Ian Colletti, who is portraying the character Arseface, and Ruth Negga, who was cast as Tulip.

Meanwhile, as IO9 points out, the leading role of Jesse Custer is the only main character yet to be cast. Rumors previously linked Domenic Cooper to the role, but we haven't heard a confirmation on that.

There are plenty of other roles that comic fans are sure to be discussing as well, but for now, the main group is rounding out quite nicely. Make sure to stay tuned for more updates on Preacher.
