Vin Diesel has been sharing some intimate details about his relationship with late actor Paul Walker lately as he's been doing the rounds promoting the new film Furious 7.

During an interview with Today, Vin Diesel announced that he named his newborn daughter Pauline after his late friend and former co-star. The two appeared in all of the Fast and Furious films together and remained close friends all the way until Walker's death in 2013.

"[Walker] went into fatherhood a lot earlier than I did," he said during the interview. "He took on that role of kind of being the guide into fatherhood for me. It's kind of beautiful."

In fact, it was Walker who insisted that Vin Diesel leave the set in Puerto Rico mid-filming when his pregnant girlfriend's water broke in New York.

"He was like, 'We can film later ... You have to go now.' And he was right."

Vin Diesel also posted a touching picture of Walker and his older daughter Hania Riley Vincent, on his Facebook page on the one-year anniversary of Walker's death with a sentimental caption:

"He was a part of so much in my life... long personal talks with my mother or babysitting the Alpha Angel... he took a certain pride in being uncle Pablo... after all, we were filming a scene in FF4 the day she was born, and he being the only one I told, encouraged me to go in and cut the umbilicle [sic] cord.

"He was an important part of my transition into fatherhood... that healthy family member, with the most positive outlook on life...

"A year ago today... a year of mourning... and his absence still leaves me speechless. We miss you Pablo..."

The star even had to walk off set and compose himself during an interview with Chicago's WGN when the reporter asked him about Walker.
