Can you believe it has been 20 years since the tragic death of the world's beloved "Queen of Tejano" Selena Quintanilla? Selena, who will always be known as a legend at such a young age, was killed by her fan club's president, Yolanda Saldívar, March 31, 1995. Fans, family and celebrities -- including Jennifer Lopez and Erica Mena -- everywhere have taken to social media, still mourning her death. Selena changed the world then and now with her up-tempo sound, bringing flavor from her Latin background. According to the Associated Press, Selena's father Abraham Quintanilla Jr. said, "It's crazy. It grows every day with events everywhere, but we're not organizing them. Our family never got together every year on the day of her murder, because there's nothing to celebrate, and this year won't be the exception."

Selena's family are Jehovah's Witnesses, and for that reason they don't celebrate deaths or birthdays.

"We remember our daughter every single day. We don't need a special day to remember her," Selena's father explained.

Jennifer Lopez, who portrayed the singer in the 1997 hit biopic, told Latina magazine, "For me it's surreal that it's been 20 years since she passed. I think I did that film around 18 years ago or something like that. It was an important time in my life, and movie in my life. Not so much because I got to play her role, but because I learned so much about her."

Lopez added, "I feel like it taught me so much to play her at that time in my career. How to navigate through this buisness with a lot of laughter and a lot of heart."

Bow Wow's fiancee Erica Mena also remembered the late singer in a number of Instagram posts from Selena's concerts and interviews.

"Today marks the 20th anniversary of Selena’s passing (3/31). In commemoration, @universalmusica is premiering a new music video, a new 'Best of' album, and will be rereleasing her catalogue with bonus tracks," Mena posted.
