First Lady Michelle Obama Being Called 'Racist' for Attending 'Black Girls Rock' [DETAILS]

Is Michelle Obama really a racist? If so, how could that possibly be? The First Lady was doing a show for goodness sake, but to some, the FLOTUS' appearance at this year's Black Girls Rock 2015 makes her racist!

MStars News has learned that some people are outraged with President Obama's wife for making a appearance and taking the stage during last Saturday's event in New Jersey at BET's Black Girls Rock.

According to The Shade Room, one person tweeted: "Michelle Obama declares 'Black Girls Rock!' what if a white First Lady had said the same about her race?!, " adding, "Racist Michelle Obama shouts, 'black girls rock!' She doesn't care about everybody else?"

For the record, Black Girls Rock is an annual event hosted by actresses like Blackish star Tracee Ellis Ross and American Crime star Regina King empowering African American girls and women and celebrating their achievements.

Now let's turn this negative story into a positive... The FLOTUS was the keynote speaker and appeared on stage with Making A Difference award winners, Kaya Thomas, Chental-Song Bembry and Gabrielle Jordan Thomas.

Kaya Thomas said that speaking with First Lady Michelle Obama was inspirational.

"You'll see she's holding my hand as we're walking on stage, and she talked to us backstage and told us she was proud of us and asked us about how school is going," Kaya stated. "It was beautiful -- The fact that our first lady is so invested in those of us who might not get told that kind of thing all the time."

In the powerful clip below, Obama told the young and older girls, as well as women in the audience: "Black Girls Rock! We rock!" she stated. "No matter who you are, no matter where you come from, you are beautiful, you are powerful, you're brilliant, you are funny."

Mrs. Obama went on to talk about her husband the POTUS, Barack Obama. "My husband, your President is so proud of you. We have such big hopes and dreams for every single on of you."

Other winners, and honorees this year included: Cicely Tyson (Living Legend Award), Ava DuVernay (Shot Caller Award), Dr. Helene D. Gayle (Social Humanitarian Award), Erykah Badu (Rock Star Award), Nadia Lopez (Change Agent Award) and Jada Pinkett Smith (Star Power Award).
