Vincent D'Onofrio, Marvel's newest Kingpin for April 10's Daredevil Netflix series premiere, is not only excited for his new show to debut but also about the potential for a Marvel crossover with Spider-Man. As a villain of Daredevil and Spider-Man, it's an idea that may come to life at one point -- especially since Spider-Man finally left Sony and is now a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

When asked by IGN about a future Spidey bout, D'Onofrio had a few things to say on the potential confrontation between the crime lord and classic superhero.

"That would be super-cool, yeah. To be able to kick Spider-Man's butt would be awesome," D'Onofrio said. "But we just don't know about those things. Those are all the Marvel secrets that they never tell us until they need us, so yeah, I would do it. I would do it in second."

We're still waiting on Spidey to make his first Marvel appearance, so a Daredevil appearance just might have to wait. Still, that doesn't make the upcoming Marvel series any less exciting. It might end up being one of Netflix's biggest draws by the time fans are able to get their hands on it and stream the show.

D'Onofrio found himself in the role of Kingpin after Marvel's head of television Jeph Loeb contacted him. During their conversation D'Onofrio recalled a whole bunch of Daredevil lore from his childhood that he had no idea was still swimming around his head.

D'Onofrio said his main goal was to not make the Kingpin cartoonish. He wanted his rendition to be a legitimate villain -- one that was believable.

"You know, they wanted him brought in as a human," D'Onofrio told IGN. "As a real kind of, just a man, who eventually turns into this iconic character. So that's a fun job. I mean, I thought right away, 'That's fantastic.' You can do so many cool things with that."
