A new videogame is making it way onto the Nintendo 3DS based on the popular anime and manga, Attack on Titan. After checking out the teaser trailer, gamers should get ready to take on "The Advancing Giants" in the upcoming game, Attack on Titan: Humanity In Chains, in May.

As we previously mentioned, Attack on Titan follows Eren Jaeger, his adopted sister, Mikasa Ackerman, and their childhood best friend, Armin Arler, after their entire village has been wiped out by gigantic humanoid creatures. To satisfy their hunger, the Titans seemingly eat humans without reason. After witnessing his own mother being eaten alive, Eren joins the military to fight these vicious monsters head-on.

According to Den of Geek, the game's storyline follows a new character. Players will take on the role of an agile member in the elite Scout Regiment. Your mission is to help defend the city from the angry giants, who are smashing through the city's walls with their bare fists.

How faithful is the game to its original source material? Well for starters, players get to put on the Three Dimensional Maneuver Gear. In the series, Eren aims and fires the grappling hooks at the Titan, then activates the gas mechanism to reel himself closer. Somehow Eren has to strike with his sword and jam the blade straight into the back of the Titan's neck.

Gamespot reports that Nintendo Direct publisher Atlus announced that it was bringing the game to North America and Europe this year. There will be local and online co-op modes, where up to four players can join in. The game includes support for the New 3DS XL's C-Stick, as well as the Circle Pad Pro.

For those who don't like their movies dubbed, the original Japanese audio will be used with English subtitles.

Available to stream on Netflix, two episodes of the Attack on Titan anime are available at Nintendo's eShop for free until June 30.
