'The View' Barbara Walters Wants Joy Behar Return, Monica Lewinsky Added to Whoopi Goldberg Panel

The View might be getting not one but two new viewpoints, as it is being rumored that Monica Lewinsky and Joy Behar are about to get onboard the ABC series. The show, currently in its 18th season, has seen a decline in ratings over the last year. Not even the addition of new cast mates Nicolle Wallace and Rosie Perez and the reintegration of Rosie O'Donnell onto the panel could save this show from the rough patches that it has recently faced. But it looks like the morning talk show could be coming out of its slump, as it is being reported by Radar Online that Barbara Walters is looking to shake things up by adding Monica Lewinsky and Joy Behar to the cast.

"Barbara is vying for Joy and Monica," an insider explained to the news site, and with Walter's stamp of approval it seems that the co-hosts are a shoe in to take over the open spots on the panel.

While Monica would be a completely new addition to the cast, Behar is a veteran, as she started with the series when it premiered in 1997 and left in 2013 to focus on other projects. But it seems like the right time for Joy to rejoin the show, as the site is explaining, "Joy really wants to come back."

But Walters's approval might not be all that important, as the producers have some reservations about bringing Behar back into the fold.

"To bring Joy back means they'd have to admit they were wrong in letting her go the first time around," the source explained, also adding that they aren't too sure about Lewinsky's addition either. "With Monica, they just aren't convinced she can carry a show."

But according to the (New York) Daily News, Lewinksy appearing on the show seems "hugely unlikely."
