Jay Z’s 'Reasonable Doubt' Pulled Off Spotify: 'Magna Carta Holy Grail' and 'Blueprint' to Follow?

Jay Z won't admit it, but it looks like he fired another warning shot at Spotify following his big Tidal announcement. If fans of the Jigga Man want to go on Spotify to listen to his first album, Reasonable Doubt, they won't be able to from this point forward because it was mysteriously removed. Right now the rest of Jay Z's albums are there, but time will tell if Magna Carta Holy Grail, Blueprint, Watch the Throne and the Black Album are on their way out, too.

If you have a Spotify account, you'll see that when you search for Reasonable Doubt the album art and tracklist come up but that's about it. None of the songs will play.

It will be interesting to see who else will pull their music off Spotify and follow in the footsteps of the lyrical mogul. When Jay told the world about Tidal, we saw Usher, Rihanna, Nicki Minaj, Madonna, deadmau5, Kanye West and J. Cole join him onstage at Moynihan Station, so be on the lookout for any of their work getting pulled.

Jay Z announced his purchase of Tidal last week and made the claim that his service will take over the streaming world. For $19.99 a month, everyone who signs up will have the chance to get a firsthand listen to the newest tracks from their favorite artists.

Jay Z told Fader that his main plan is for Tidal to become a media destination that benefits artists as well as fans.

"I believe that once Tidal is known -- we're not known, because it's been three days -- once we're known as a destination for really good music, really good sound and you expect a certain quality from us, people won't come just to hear," he said. "We built a place, a home for creativity where people can have songs that are 18 minutes long with no hook and we'll hear songs like 'Like a Rolling Stone' again, where there's no clear, definable hook but it's still considered one of the greatest songs of all time."
