All hail the new Queen of American Horror Story. Kathy Bates is going to be running things now that Jessica Lange has announced her departure from the series, in more ways than one. It is being reported that the star, who first made her appearance during season three's Coven and continued her AHS journey with Freak Show, will be taking over the Hotel, when season five premieres in October.

It was revealed earlier this year that the theme and setting for the new episodes would take place at a hotel, and according to E! News, Bates won't just be checking into the hotel when the new season debuts, but she will be running the joint like a real boss.

Ryan Murphy took to his Twitter account earlier today to confirm the news that Kathy would be making her return and that she would have one of the lead roles. "Kathy Bates is running the Hotel. #AHSSeason5," the creator and co-producer tweeted.

The stars will be rejoining some of her Freak Show brethren, including Wes Bentley, who played Edward Mordrake, and Matt Bomer, who guest starred during an episode last year, but she will also be seeing some new faces amongst them including Lady Gaga and Cheyenne Jackson.

It seems like Bates is going to be star struck when she sees Gaga on set, as she told the news site that she was posting a picture of the musician on her treadmill for inspiration. "I'm a big fan of hers, my jaw dropped when I saw her on the Oscars," Bates told the news site.

Cheyenne also took to his Instagram to explain how excited he is about working with Kathy. "SO BLOODY EXCITED to be working with @MsKathyBates; one of my all time favorite actresses."

The new season will debut this October on FX.
