Some might call Woody Allen a genius. Some might call him a pervert and a molester. Actress Mariel Hemingway calls him the guy she once turned down. But it seems he was nothing but pleasant to the at-the-time young actress. Hemingway has been making the rounds to promote her new memoir Out Came the Sun, and in the book, she mentions Allen's attempts to bring her to Paris after the completion of his 1979 classic Manhattan. She notes that after she basically shot the famed comedian-writer-director down, he "never did anything unkind or wrong" –– even before things went down.

Hemingway recently sat down with HuffPost Live and admitted that Allen did indeed like her and was interested, but she claims to have been "naïve" at the time.

"I was a kid," she says, adding that when she realized Allen was not going to be her boyfriend, and therefore had to push him away alone ... despite being 18-years-old and unsure of herself.

Now, even though Allen did treat her right – so it seems – Hemingway tells HuffPost that she felt Allen "vanished" after she turned him down. Which, well, is kind of weird.

Perhaps a shot ego?

"I just know that when I said, 'I can't go to Paris with you,' he didn't [go to Paris], and he left."

She chalks it up to a fantasy affair on Allen's part.

No matter the thought process on the Annie Hall star's mind, Hemingway claims she was too young. "I wasn't that girl."

Of course, she doesn't straight out say anything about Allen's molestation charges, but it seems the implication is there.
