MStars News previously learned that Cornell Hayes, a.k.a. Nelly, was arrested and charged with felony drug possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia over the weekend when his bus pulled over in Tennessee. Now we have learned that the Nellyville star took to Instagram to finally speak out on the arrest claiming full responsibility for his actions.

The single father of four wrote:

"Although I am unable to speak to the legal specifics and my attorney has put out a preliminary statement, I feel the need to take responsibility for my choices in needing to be more aware of the people I associate with and allow onto my property while committing to make better choices moving forward. While my instinct of course, is to be accessible to my friends, fans and acquaintances, the last thing I would want to do is compromise the respect and admiration of my friends, family and fans."

MStars News previously reported that cops found crystal-type rocks that tested positive for meth, a small amount of marijuana and a number of handguns.

Nelly, along with five other people on the bus, were taken to the local jail where the rapper was booked, posted his $10,000 bail and was released.

According to Madame Noire, Nelly is scheduled to appear in court in June.

The rapper's lawyer claims that his client will be cleared after the judge finds out that the items didn't belong to Nelly.

Nelly's attorney Scott Rosenblum said: "Nelly was one of several individuals that was on a tour bus that was stopped and searched while traveling through Tennessee. In fact, there had been 15 to 20 people that had access to the bus prior to the stop. Allegedly, a small quantity of contraband -- MDMA aka Molly or Ecstasy -- was discovered during the routine search. We are extremely confident that when the facts come out, Nelly will not be associated with the contraband that was allegedly discovered."
