Rachel McAdams, Jake Gyllenhaal Dating Rumors - Romantic Dinner or Just Friends?

Rachel McAdams and Jake Gyllenhaal may have dodged dating rumors since they were first spotted together filming their movie Southpaw back in October, but the alleged couple has once again caused the rumor mill to go into overdrive. The True Detective star and her Nightcrawler buddy were just spotted together getting what looks like a romantic dinner for two. The two A-list actors might have been linked to other celebrities in recent months, including Ruth Wilson and Michael Sheen, but it seems that they enjoyed each other's company the most, at least over this past weekend.

According to Radar Online, who provides a slideshow of pictures, the couple hit up Los Angeles hot spot Odys + Penelope on Sunday night where photos were taken of them enjoying a meal for two. The couple didn't seem to mind that they were being watched, as in one picture they even looked straight into the paparazzi's cameras, as to say "we know you are there."

It looks like the two really enjoyed each others company, as they couldn't help but smile and laugh over some wine and food.

However, People is reporting that the couple is strictly just friends, as a source told them, "they're friends and they were catching up."

That could all change in the coming months though, as McAdams and Gyllenhaal will be spending a lot of time together as they start on the press tour for their movie, Southpaw. The movie tells the story of a middleweight boxer who has fallen on hard times and is trying to make his comeback to the sport.

The film will hit theaters on July 31.
