Emma Watson has had quite a life- and she's only 25 years old. Before even becoming a teenager, she donned the role of Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter films and on top of that she's a U.N. women's ambassador. It's because of these accomplishments that she's being honored in Time magazine's 100 Most Influential People List of 2015 in the Pioneers section.

Honoring Watson was former New York Times editor Jill Abramson.

"It's also refreshing to see her vigorous embrace of feminism, which Watson defines as 'the theory of political, economic and social equality of the sexes.' And apparently she lives by it," Abramson said. "Her HeForShe speech at Davos was an Internet sensation, but unsurprisingly, it drew the typical antifeminist rants and even some threats. Watson chose to highlight the moving letters she has received from fathers who tell her they are investing new hope in the future for their daughters."

Abramson then went on to say the campaign would undoubtedly make her Granger alter ego proud. Watson started the campaign last fall at the United Nations. She wanted to make it clear in her HeForShe speech that gender equality's an issue for everyone.

"Men -- I would like to take this opportunity to extend your formal invitation. Gender equality is your issue, too," she said.

During an interview with Elle UK, Watson said HeForShe was a campaign she put together as a way to give back. According to estimates by Celebrity Net Worth, Watson made more than $60 million with the Harry Potter series and is one of the richest entertainers in the U.K. She sais she's uncomfortable with her fame and doing HeForShe is manageable for her.

"This is something I really believe in," she said.

"Feminism is not here to dictate to you. It's not prescriptive, it's not dogmatic. All we are here to do is give you a choice. If you want to run for president, you can. If you don't, that's wonderful, too," Watson told the magazine.
