Taking on inner-city violence and drama by putting a unique twist on it with teenager Malcolm (Shameik Moore), who isn't like most of the youth in his neighborhood, Dope looks like one of the breakout hits of the year! Plus, rapper A$AP Rocky plays a drug dealer and Zoe Kravitz also brings some star power to the movie. Watch a brand new trailer for this new film below!

As Malcolm explains in the opening segment of this new trailer, his life could've easily been an inner-city cliché, but he's a bit more unique than you'd think - which isn't actually that good of a thing. He's a nerd surrounded by gangs and violence that one night takes a chance on talking to a girl and gets in way over his head.

Plus, this movie is full of great comedic quotes that we're sure will make it into an iconic comedy for years to come! Dope comes from director Rick Famuyiwa.

Here is the official synopsis for Dope (via Open Road Films):

A critical hit and audience favorite out of the Sundance Film Festival, in DOPE, Malcolm (Shameik Moore) is carefully surviving life in a tough neighborhood in Los Angeles while juggling college applications, academic interviews, and the SAT. A chance invitation to an underground party leads him into an adventure that could allow him to go from being a geek, to being dope, to ultimately being himself.
